Jill’s Caring Corner
Jill’s Caring Corner
We are losing Jill to this disease. On this page, her family and friends can share with her anecdotes, memories, pictures or well wishes.
Please visit this blog to read memories that David, other family members, and friends have contributed. You will find pictures and an opportunity to comment.
If you would like to add an entry, please email David with your contribution. He will post your remembrance and/or pictures as soon as possible!
Follow the link to get David’s latest update on course of the disease. This blog is a disease update, not a page for remembrances.
This page provides a brief history of Jill’s diagnosis as well as some links and books on dementia.
Helping Hands
A number of you have asked how you can help out. (I confess that I struggle with this; rugged individualist and all that folderol.) If you choose, you can assist our family in one of the ways that I have listed below:
Engagement: Jill’s disease is isolating. Continuing to involve both of us in your social lives is a great gift! Jill benefits from the activity and involvement. I benefit from the opportunity to be with friends.
Respite: As Jill progresses she requires more supervision. Offering to take her out, visit with her, or otherwise sit with her allows me some respite. If you come to the house to sit with her allow me the chance to slip away either to another room, or even out of the house.
Transportation: Jill no longer drives. Offering to take her to spinning or other appointments is yet another way that you can assist.
To volunteer for any of this, please contact me via email or by phone.
Jill has an Early Onset Dementia, a progressive, terminal disease that is slowly stealing her away from those who love her. This page offers updates, resources, and ways to help.
